He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Boyden Fortner and Lorna Kerley Fortner; his siblings, Harold (Peggy), Lynn Fortner (Faye) and Marie Watson; and his brother-in-law Joe James.
He is survived by: his wife Ethel Feimster Fortner; his daughter Debbie Fortner Wike (Danny); his grandchildren, Jared Wike (Danielle) and Courtney Lackey (Wesley); his great grandchildren, Ava Taffi, Adeline Wike, Atlee Wike, Crew Lackey and Elle Lackey; and his sister Doris James.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lebanon Baptist Church Building Fund in C/O Tammy Fortner, 70 Mt. Olive Church Road, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
