He was predeceased by: his parents, Ceph Childers and Cloice Childers Childers; his brother Carl Childers; and his brothers-in-law, Kenneth Daniels and Carl Jolly.

He is survived by: his daughters, Michelle Childers of Taylorsville and Kelly Dison (Eric) of Taylorsville; his grandchildren, Kayla Childers, Kasey Childers and Caleb Dison; his sisters, Shirley Daniels of Taylorsville and Joyce Jolly of Taylorsville; his sister-in-law Retha Sue Childers; his brother Randy Childers (Michelle) of Taylorsville; his aunt Ruth Barnette; and his nieces and nephews, Kathy Roten (Arlie), Jill Bowman, Phil Jolly (Kelley), Dylan, Miranda, Bethany Childers, Danielle Chapman (Corey), Jaden, Natalie, Evan Chapman and Ben Jolly.
