He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Vann Holloman and Elizabeth "Bess" Cowand; his wife Joyce Oakley Holloman; his son Richard Vann Holloman, Jr.; and his sister Ronney Holloman Steele.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Minneapolis, Tanzania and Kenya; his daughters, Denise H. Bilhorn (Lorin) of Bethlehem and Stephanie Lynn Bloom of Bethlehem; his grandchildren, Maria Bilhorn Boggess (Jordan) of Raleigh, Clement Bilhorn (Emily) of Madison, WI, Richard L. Bilhorn (Whitney) of Charlotte, NC, Seth Bloom (Diane) of Louisville, KY, Grace Bloom and Barbados; and his siblings, Joseph Holloman of Rocky Mount, NC, David Holloman of Raleigh, NC and Mary Margaret Daughtridge of Greensboro, NC..
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service, at Drum Funeral Home. in lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of Alexander County, 50 Lucy Echerd Lane, Taylorsville, NC 28681; or to Christian Cooperative Outreach, PO Box 3324, Hickory, NC 28603.
