She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Ford and Mary Helen Young Ford; her husband Wayne A. Story; and her son Nelson Guy Story. She is survived by: her children, Ronald Story (Darlene), Ray Douglas Story (Melody), Ann Whisnant (Billy) and Helen Edmisten (Chris); her sisters, Sally Taylor, Marie Jones, Sylvia Burns (Ronnie), Christine Moretz, Charlotte Isaacs and Mariam Pitts (Dean); and her grandchildren, Kevin Story (Suda), Preston Story (Brandy), Jennifer Clark (Charlie), Brittany Houston (Zack) and Bryson Edmisten. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Greer-McElveen Funeral Home and Crematory (725 Wilkesboro Blvd NE, Lenoir, NC 28645).
