With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marvin Gene Gwaltney of Taylorsville, North Carolina, who passed away on September 24, 2020 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay Parks and Edith McClain Gwaltney; his wife Laura Jean Wilson Gwaltney; and his siblings, Harold, Rev. Gilmer, Robert "Bob", Efird, Ronald (Howard Gwaltney) and Marjorie Christy.
He is survived by: his children, Terry Gwaltney (Sandra), Kevin Gwaltney (Susan) and Alicia Bumgarner; his grandchildren, Brandon Bumgarner (Tiffany), Brittany B. Abernathy (James), Caleb Gwaltney (Kasey) and Noelle Gwaltney; his great grandchildren, Noah, Jonah, Sampson, Asher Gwaltney, Enoch, Sarah, Adah and Elizabeth Bumgarner; his brother Rev. Jerry Gwaltney (Joyce Lackey); and his pet Cricket. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
