He was predeceased by: his parents, Pervie Otis and Mozelle Harrington Burgess; his daughter Debra Jean Harrington; his sisters, Gertie Treadway, Mary Ellen Lackey and Athie Goble; his granddaughter Amanda Burgess; and his close friend Velma Meadows.
He is survived by: his grandson Phillip Harrington; his spouse Vina "Lucille" Wallace Burgess; his son James Burgess (Jackie); his siblings, Conley Burgess (Dot), Alton Burgess (Penny), Thelma Deal (Lindsay), Laura Eaton (Tom) and Ruth Isenhour (Jerry); his grandchildren, Byron Harrington (Elizabeth), Ethan Burgess (Kate) and Adrianna Allen (Shawn); his stepgrandchild Kali Davidson; and his son-in-law Rick Harrington (Angie).
