He was predeceased by: his parents, George Thomas Jones, Sr. and Inez Blanch Duncan Jones; his wife Peggy Joyce Payne Jones; and his siblings, Beulah Pemberton, Doris Criss, Natella Blackwell, Carolyn Jones and George Jones.
He is survived by: his children, Patricia Jones Carter (Larry) of Statesville, Kenny Jones (Joan) of Taylorsville, Barry Jones (Janna) of Newton, Timothy Jones (Lisa) of Taylorsville and Ricky Jones of Asheville; his grandchildren, Joshua Moore, Caitlin Jones Parkhurst (Matt), Ashley Jones, Tyler Jones (Tiffany) and Andrew Jones (Lacey Bruno); his great grandchildren, Gracelynn, Jacob and Ezra; his siblings, Janet Payne (Charles), Drema Gail Gales and William Jones (Carol); and his sister-in-law Christine Jones.
