He was predeceased by: his parents, Linzie Johnson and Margaret Benfield Johnson; his former wife Nelli; and his siblings, Earl, Ray, Paul, Harold, Johnny, Junior and Cleola Morgan.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Johnson; his daughters, Kathy Townsend (Roland) and Connie Danner (Ronnie); his sister Helen Braswell (Charles); his grandchildren, Ira Moody, Timmy Townsend (Alisha), Ronnie Moody (Joanie), John Dagampat (Kristie), Lisa Reynolds, Rhonda Bollinger, Catina Townsend and Angie Conley (Chris); and his friend Martha Barnette. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews.
