It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Harold James of Taylorsville, North Carolina, born in Alexander, North Carolina, who passed away on November 18, 2020, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herm Lee James and Anner Walker James; his wife Annie Louise McDuffie James; his stepmother Texie Barnes James; his son Devon Henry James (Ann); his brothers, Ernest, Bill and Robert James; and his half-brother Junior.

He is survived by: his children, Johnnie James and Shelby Mitchell (Randy) of Hiddenite; and his grandchildren, Sharon Peoples (Terry), Scott Mitchell (Monica), Dana Harris (Jason) and Eric James (Heather). He is also survived by nine great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren.
