He was predeceased by: his parents, Gertrude Mathis (Punch) and Albert Mathis; his sister Betty Jo (Burns); his brother-in-law Dermont Robbins; and his brothers, Bruce and Jerry Mathis.
He is survived by: his son Gary Burns; and his sister Diane Roberts. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
