He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Baxter Swicegood and Lelia Mae Deal Swicegood; his daughter Joanne Wall; and his grandson Joshua Swicegood. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Sue Benge Swicegood; his sons, David Swicegood Jr. (Richard) of Hendersonville, Heath Swicegood (Chastity) of Statesville and Brian Swicegood of Hiddenite; his siblings, Allen Swicegood (Jan), Evelyn Swicegood of Statesville and Brenda Swicegood Icenhour of Statesville; and his grandchildren, Jeremy James, Jason James, Logan Swicegood, Kaleb Swicegood, Tristan Cowles, Ethan Swicegood and Evan Swicegood. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
