He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harvey Harrington and Maxine Harrington (Daniels); his children, Josh Harrington (Christy), Ashley Harrington (Erin) and Emily Atwood (Chris); his grandchildren, TJ, Cody, Kanon, Ace and Ailey; and his siblings, Pat Deal, Kathy Lackey, Barbara Gentle, Danny Harrington (Joann), Lanny Harrrington (Jamie) and Harvey Harrington, Jr.. He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

“Shorty was a regular and much loved caller to the Home Ad "buy and sell" show on WSIC 1400 AM in Statesville. He always called with an upbeat voice and positive attitude adding so much to our program. I was fortunate to meet Shorty at his home on several occasions and always left with some great deals and tasty canned items. I think I was responsible for buying most of his Nature's Pearl Muscadine juice. He often talked about his family and his love for all of you. Pat Shannon”
