Garlan Eaker Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Garlan Eaker of Taylorsville, North Carolina, born in Cleveland, North Carolina, who passed away on December 20, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil L. Eaker and Bessie Proctor Eaker; his son Jeffrey Eaker; and his sisters, Mary Eaker, Burleens "Lena" Whisnant, Dot Hendrick, Wilma Towery and Selma White.

He is survived by: his wife Edith Jewell Towery Eaker; his children, Eric Eaker (Karla) of Hickory and Wanda Vander Wall (Bill) of Tarpon Springs, FL; his daughter-in-law Mary D. Caldwell (Tim); his brother Gene Eaker of Lawndale; and his grandchildren, Jesse Eaker (Kristy) of East Linden, TN, Colin Eaker (Melissa) of Taylorsville, Bailey Eaker of Taylorsville, Kyle Eaker (Susan) and Ethan Eaker (Kendall) of Chesapeake, VA. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
