He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Calvin Deal and Esther Margaret Childers Deal; his siblings, William Robert Deal, Jimmy Lynn Deal, Samuel Maurice Deal, Carol Jean Brown and Joanne Blondell Heil; his nieces and nephews, Jacob Deal, Mathew McDermott, Vernon Heil, Teresa DeMayo, Maureen Deal and Kim Parsons; and his children, Douglas Lee Deal (Cheryl) and Denise Diane Deal.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Wurtz Deal; his brother Richard Calvin Deal; his brother-in-law John Brown; his sisters, Betty Louise Martin, Judith Elaine Thomas, Patricia Margaret McDermott (John) and Deborah Diane Coffey (Roger); and his pets, Lizzie and Charlie. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetic Society and the Alzheimer's Foundation.
