It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Georgie Moore Benfield of Taylorsville, North Carolina, who passed away on October 31, 2022, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George V. Moore and Dovey Ryder Moore; her former husband Gary Wayne Benfield; and her siblings, John Moore, George "Buddy" Moore, Dude Moore, Margaret Fairchild and Margie "Susie" Blount.
She is survived by: her husband Tom Kohnle; her sons, Bryan Benfield (Amanda) of Granite Falls, Rodney Benfield (Sandra) of Surfside Beach, SC and Jason Benfield (Sherry) of Granite Falls; her stepdaughter Marci Sigmon (Brian) of Hickory; her grandson Alex Benfield (Chelsea); her great grandchildren, Evelyn Benfield and Reece; her children, Kinsley Greene, Carter Greene, Ethan Benfield and Katie Benfield (Kevin Valencia); her sister-in-law Rachel Moore of Hildebran; and her cousin Judy Brown of Mooresville.
