He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Benfield and Hester Mays Benfield; his son Henry Benfield; his brother Jackie Benfield; and his pets, Ginger and Snoopy.
He is survived by: his wife Retha Jewell Benfield; his sister JoAnn Fox (Jake); and his pet Winnie. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 24th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Alexander Funeral Service (193 NC-16, Taylorsville, NC 28681).
