She was predeceased by: her fathers, Joseph Dalton Kirkland and Hershel Victoria Provost Kirkland; her husband Gordon B. Shuffler; and her sisters, Christine Kirkland Anderson of Carriere, MS and Patsy Hemphill Benson of Mobile, AL..
She is survived by: her daughters, Crystal Albea of Hiddenite, Candy Averitt (Les) of York, SC and Casey Massey (Dino) of Oakboro, NC. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
