He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Zach Leatherman and Lillie Mae McNeilly Leatherman; and his sisters, Kathleen Leatherman, Virginia Dare Leatherman, Merle Powell, Meldonia Bivens, Josephine Leatherman, Ruby Pope and Juanita Leatherman Finding.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Sain Leatherman; and his sons, Larry Leatherman (Sandra) of Lincolnton, Albert Leatherman (Florence) of Marion and Charlie Leatherman, Jr. (Kimberly) of Nebo. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
