He was predeceased by: his parents, Quez Hefner and Evie Lou Fox Hefner; and his siblings, Loretta Chapman and Harold Hefner. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Loretta Austin Hefner; his children, Dawn Shealy (Steve), Karen Sigmon (Terry), Mia Snipes (Larry Ingle) and Jeffery Hefner; his brother Don Hefner (Sharon); his grandchildren, Heather Baldonado, Olivia Shepherd, Ashley Hefner, Caylee Maltba and Tyler Maltba; and his great grandchildren, Delaney, Gabriel, Rory, Camden and Ian.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Shiloh Lutheran Church building fund @ 1011 Shiloh Church Rd, Hickory, NC 28601.
