It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Shook of Taylorsville, North Carolina, born in Alexander, North Carolina, who passed away on October 19, 2020, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Edward Mooney and Daphne Watts Mooney; her former husband Carl Eugene Rector; her husband Paul Daniel Shook; her siblings, Willie Pennell Brookshire, Glenn Mooney and Don Mooney; her son-in-law Steve Leroy Sipe; and her brothers-in-law, Kenneth Patterson, Burl Cody and Lindsey Pennell.
She is survived by: her children, Kay Rector Sipe (Craig Williams) of Taylorsville and Timmy Eugene Rector (Audrey) of Taylorsville; her grandchildren, Tiffany Renee Sipe Sprinkle and Kelsey Rector Anderson; her great grandchildren, Erica LaKaye Sprinkle, Lainey and Luke Anderson; and her sisters, Joyce Patterson of Taylorsville, Dolphine Cody of Taylorsville and Bobbie Nail (Butch) of Taylorsville. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
