She was predeceased by: her son Damien J. Mayes; and her grandparents, Harvey and Lucille Mayes. She is survived by: her parents, Diane Poole Carlton (Robert) and Harvey Mayes II (Rhonda); her son Lamar Mayes of Taylorsville; her grandchildren, Braiden Hall, Piper Mayes and Nikkolai Mayes; her brothers, Harvey Mayes III of Pennsylvania and Marcus Carlton of Wilkesboro; and her close friend Gwen Miller. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
