He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Leggett Long and Addie Roberson Long; his wife Jeanne Long; his son Timothy Scott Long; and his siblings, Bo Long, Claude Long, Jimmy Long, Bet Hillas and Mable Maybry.
He is survived by: his daughters, Amy Long and Kim Whitley (Richard); his siblings, Hazel Hale, Debbie Fox, George Long, Henry Long, Paul Long and Joe Long; his grandchildren, Emily Long Negrete, Sarah Bell and Allen Long; and his great grandchildren, Ben Negrete, Tyler Joyner, Ayden Zimmerman, Austin Bell and Hunter Bell.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Carlisle Funeral Home (701 Hospital Dr, Tarboro, NC 27886). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Mildred Missionary Baptist Church. A burial will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at the Greenwood Cemetery (1000 W Howard Ave, Tarboro, NC 27886).
