He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester Pettaway Sr. and Catherine Harris Pettaway. He is survived by: his siblings, James C. Pettaway of Tarboro, NC, Frances L. Allen of Tarboro, NC, Bessie Mae Little of Norfolk, VA and Mildred Davis of Suffolk, VA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews other loving relative and friends.
