He was predeceased by: his mother Charlotte Pettway. He is survived by: his wife Lue Ann Thomas Draughn; his children, Barbara A. Richardson (Pete) of Rocky Mount, NC, Evette Petteway (David) of Greenville, NC, Tiffany Draughn (James) of Rocky Mount, NC and Samuel Draughn, Jr. of Carthage, NC; and his siblings, Lois Clark of Tarboro, NC, Helen Mayo of Tarboro, NC, Doris Knight of Washington, DC and Thomas Pettaway of Rocky Mount, NC. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM at the St. James Temple Baptist Church (4480 McNair Rd, Tarboro, NC 27886). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
