He is survived by: his daughter Bachelor of Science; his wife Kay Kelly Farmer; his daughter Kelly Farmer Lanier; his son-in-law Tommy Lanier; his son Robert Delroy Farmer III; his daughter-in-law Kim Farmer; his grandchildren, Patrick Lanier (Claire Massagee Lanier), Payton Lanier, Brooke Lanier, Reagan Farmer and Reese Farmer; his great grandchild Brooks Lanier; his siblings, JoAnn Farmer Smith (Butch Smith) and Fred Farmer (Kim Farmer); his siblings-in-law, Debbie Price and Danny Reason; and also Zelbara Brown. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was a Chairman of the Edgecombe County Chapter of the North Carolina Symphony, Chairman of the Edgecombe County American Heart Association and a member of the Edgecombe Community College Foundation Board.
