He is survived by: his children, Melvin Betrand, III of Tarboro, NC, William Betrand, George Betrand (GT) of Raleigh, NC, Mary Betrand Shaw of Princeville, NC, Cornell Draughn of Virginia Beach, VA, Shirley Boddie of Tarboro, NC, Ethel Draughn of Wilson, NC and Gloria Howard of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, with a host of other loving relatives and friends.
