He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Barnes and Lois Barnes (Radcliffe); and his siblings, Lowell Barnes and Lovina Kay James. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Painter; his son Lyndel Evan Barnes; his daughter-in-law Anne Barnes (Zdrojewski); his daughter Christina Laqeretabua; his granddaughters, Isabella and Bethany Laqeretabua; and his siblings, Larry, Lonnie, Luther Barnes, Lois Fowler Barrett and Louise Jeannette Gray. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
