It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Bell Hopkins of Tarboro, North Carolina, who passed away on February 27, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the sacred silence of farewell, Joyce Bell is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Joyce Bell's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Reverend Johnny Bell, Jr. and Rosa Williams Bell; and her husband Reverend Tyrone D. Hopkins. She is survived by: her daughters, Zandra Turner and Courtney Gaylor of Zebulon, NC; her sisters, Agnes Glass of Tarboro, NC and Patricia Lawrence of Teaneck, NJ; and her grandchildren, Elijah Suggs and Imani Gaylor.
Viewing was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hemby-Willoughby Mortuary, Inc. (1800 Western Blvd, Tarboro, NC 27886). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. James Temple Church (4480 McNair Rd, Tarboro, NC 27886).
