Jason William Honeycutt Obituary
Jason William Honeycutt passed away on January 29, 2024. He was born on August 07, 1978 in Portsmouth, VA. He was preceded in death by his brother Kent, his paternal grandparents, J.B. and Mary Ann Honeycutt, maternal grandparents, William Jr. and Betty Johnson Love, Step grandmother, Doris Love and Aunt Betsy Love.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 - 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at First Baptist Church Tarboro.
Jason is survived by his parents Kenny and Brenda Honeycutt of Tarboro, NC, daughters, Kira Lee Kent Honeycutt and Joplin Tailor-Rose Wohner and former wife, Bekah Parrell. Jason is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Libby and John Gallagher, JoAnn and Sam Tucker and Joel Honeycutt. He also leaves a number of cousins that he thought of as brothers and sisters, including Sara, Rachel and J.W. Gallagher, Riley Tucker Womack and Carly Kent Tucker Sorenson, Staci Tyree Phelps and Gayle Carroll.
Jason graduated from Tarboro High School in 1996, where he played baseball and soccer. He was a very good golfer, honing his skill at Hilma Country Club in Tarboro. Jason loved music. He sang, played piano, guitar, bass and mandolin. He was a successful DJ in the Greensboro area where he called himself "Crewless". He loved to play and sing everything from Broadway, Rock 'N Roll and Bluegrass.
Jason was a caring and thoughtful friend to many in the Greensboro area. Jason never got over the loss of his brother and sought relief from his pain until the end.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at First Baptist Church Tarboro. Burial will follow at Edgecombe Memorial Park.
Memorials in Jason's name can be directed to any addiction research or treatment program.
