She was predeceased by: her parents, Garland Pollard and Dora Blanche Pollard; her husband Robert Walston; and her brothers, Garland Pollard, Jr., J. W. Pollard, Bobby Ray Pollard and Gary Davis Pollard.
She is survived by: her children, Susan Walston of Raleigh and Bobby Walston (Kristi) of Wake Forest; her grandchildren, Michelle (Daniel), Matthew (Hayley), Morgan, Seth, Andrew, Eric, Nicole and Katelyn; and her sisters, Claudia Blackwell-Hardy, Jeanette Elks, Mary Jones and Charlotte Deans.
