He is survived by: his daughters, Connie Phillips Watson (Wayland) of Tarboro, Cathy Phillips Bell (Jeff) of Pitt County and Angela Dawn Wachowicz (Walter John) of Nash County; his sister Sherry Gibson (Pete) of Virginia; his grandchildren, Jennifer Thorpe, Adrienne Phillips, Aaron Warren, Kody Scott, Jacob Wachowicz and Tiffany Hardison; his great grandchildren, Katlin Rose Davis, Lilee Claiborne, Dawson Claiborne, Alexis Phillips and Grayson Hardison; his nieces, Bridget Phillips and Renee Clark; and his nephew Carl Webber. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
