She was predeceased by: her parents, Eben Festus Hinton and Adelia Lancaster Hinton; and her siblings, Floyd, Norman, Jesse "Jake", Paul, Speight, Billie, Gertrude and Lizzie.
She is survived by: her husband Charles Edwin "Ed" Joyner of Tarboro; her daughter Donna Joyner Black (John) of Charlotte; her grandchildren, John David Black, Jr. (Ali) and Elizabeth Black Smith (Trace); her great grandchild Annabelle Kate Black of Charlotte; and her sister Florence Hinton Horton of Rocky Mount.
