She was predeceased by: her parents, Julian Whitley and Evelyn Whitley; her husband Robert S Carlisle; and her children, Evelyn C Taylor and Dennis R Carlisle.

She is survived by: her son Bob Carlisle (BJ) of Tarboro; and her grandchildren, Angela Lewis (Oliver) of Chocowinity and Robert Carlisle (Krystle) of Tarboro. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
