He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Whitehurst and Thelma Whitehurst; and his brothers, Kenneth Bryant and Bill Whitehurst. He is survived by: his wife Regina Coppock Whitehurst; his son David Whitehurst, Jr. (Sommer); his grandson Carson Whitehurst; and his siblings, Phillip Whitehurst and Mamie Morris. He is also survived by his family and friends.
