He is survived by: his close friend Dorothy Sledge; his sons, Sterling of Stone Mountain, GA, Wilfred Whitehead of Halifax, NC and Fredrick Jones of Pinetops, NC; his stepdaughter Stephanie Battle of Tarboro, NC; and his siblings, Ronald Jackson of Garysburg, NC and Sandra Cosby of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
