She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Sutton Edmondson, Sr. and Louise Matthews Edmondson; her husband Billy Odell Hampton, Sr.; and her sisters, Alice Wilson and Leiwana "Tieny" Rawls.
She is survived by: her son Billy J (Julie) of Raleigh; her caregivers, Sharon Bunch, Florence Harris and Brenda Carr; her daughter Abbey Whitford (Paul Melson) of New Bern; her grandchildren, Erin Droese (Sean), Andrew Whitford, Milly and Ellie Hampton (Clayton Everett) of Robersonville; her son-in-law Wyatt Whitford; her nieces and nephews, Marilyn E. Hesser (Doug), Lawrence Rawls, Jr. (Julie) and Sutton Edmondson (Wanda); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Hannah (Brian), Matthew, Seth, Elizabeth, Mary (Caleb), Sarah, Hank (Katelyn) and Schulyer (Lyndon); and also, Henry and Eli.
