He was predeceased by: his parents, Argusta Jones and Martha Ellen Jones; his sisters, Alma Groover, Katherin Sutherland and Martha Ellen Mewborn; and his pet Cody.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Pridgen Jones; his children, David Jones (Martha) and Amy Thigpen (Ken); his grandchildren, Tyson Jones, Connor Jones, Aaron Thigpen, Ethan Thigpen (Morgan) and Mackenzie Thigpen; his great grandchildren, Myla Thigpen and Evie Thigpen; his niece Lynda Gardner; his caregiver Pam Manning; and his nephew Stafford Hollowell.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 25th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Carlisle Funeral Home (701 Hospital Dr, Tarboro, NC 27886). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 26th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Gethsemane Baptist Church (7 Bridges Rd, North Carolina 27891).
