Alton Thomas Strickland Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alton Thomas Strickland (Tarboro, North Carolina), who passed away on January 11, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawton Strickland and Mamie Strickland; his siblings, Kenneth, Billy, Margie Eaton, Cathryn Bridgers and Susan Owens; and his stepsister Cleo Webb.
He is survived by: his wife Doris H. Strickland; his children, Tommy (Kim) of Raleigh, Timmy (Lisa) of Fountain and Tammy Brown (David) of New Bern; his grandsons, Kesler (Aubree) of Raleigh, Justin (Heather) of Raleigh, Ethan (Brittani) of Macclesfield and Jacob (Whitley) of Macclesfield; his great grandchildren, Waylon, Clinton, Wills, Ensley and Matilda; and his stepsister Carolina P. Webb of Macclesfield. He is also survived by several nephews, nieces and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Webb's Chapel Baptist Church (2771 Webbs Chapel Rd, Macclesfield, NC 27852). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Webbs Chapel Church. A burial was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at the Maplewood Cemetery (400 College St NE, Wilson, NC 27893).
