She was predeceased by: her father Milton; her grandmother Susan Edwards Webb; her grandson Jeff "Buck" Wooten; and her sister Carolyn Godwin (Betsy Walston). She is survived by: her children, Melissa Ellis, John Ellis of Statesville and Jeffrey Wooten of Tarboro; and her sisters, Sally Barnes of Walstonburg and Lisa Leyshon (Curtis) of Boone. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
