It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruthie Mae King Byrd of Tar Heel, North Carolina, who passed away on August 15, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester King and Rannie Kinlaw King; and her siblings, Ernestine Davis, Thelma Davis, Wilma Bedsole, Rachel Russ and Nash King.
She is survived by: her husband Charles Castle Byrd Jr.; her children, Sandy Byrd (Rhonda) and Charlene Deal (Shurman); her siblings, Murray King, William "Bill" King and Paula Zimberg; her grandchildren, Ethan Byrd (Morgan), Mason Byrd, Gracan Faulk (Jon), Josiah Deal and Nathan Deal; and her great grandchildren, Levi Byrd, Eli Byrd and Ellie Deal.
