He is survived by: his wife Annette Storms Grimes; his children, Woodie Grimes of White Oak, Wendell Grimes of White Oak and Amy Melvin of Tar Heel; his sister Ann Brisson (Billy) of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Robert Grimes, Laura Grimes, Chance Melvin, Dalton Melvin and Kaylee Cruz; his stepgrandchildren, Kelly Caulder, Adam Caulder and Matt Thompson; and his great grandchildren, Sydney, Grayson and Demetrius.
