He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Elijah Edwards and Nettie Strickland Edwards; his siblings, Clyde Bud Edwards, Daniel Phillip Edwards, Dorothy Coleman and Sadie Breneman; and his son-in-law Lennox Jernigan.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sharon Edwards Jernigan (Marshall Gore) of Tabor City, NC and April Edwards Taylor (Shayne) of Garner, NC; his siblings, David Edwards, Sr. of Locust, NC, Martha Worthen of Charlotte, NC and Libby Peacock of Charlotte, NC; and his grandchildren, Kamryn Shaye Taylor and James Thomas "J. T." Taylor.
