He was predeceased by: his parents, Jenny Mahala and Julia Branson Mahala. He is survived by: his children, Letitia M. Boyd (Ken) of Tabor City, Eugene Mahala (Ellen) of Lenoir, NC and Stephen Mahala of Lenoir, NC; and his grandchildren, Terri Hood, Derrick Boyd, Carly Sellers, Amber Mahala, Ryan Mahala and Ashley Mahala. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
