She was predeceased by: her husband Steve Small; her son Dwayne Ward; and her siblings, Edison Fowler, Eldon Fowler, Dale Fowler and Hilda Gray Nealy.
She is survived by: her sons, Timothy "Timmy" Ward (Christina) of Tabor City and Rodney Ward (Dawn) of Tabor City; her brother Danny Fowler of Tabor City; and her grandchildren, Brandon Ward, Meredith Ward, Donovan Ward, Kaitlyn Ward, Carter Ward, Joe Frank Rich II and Lewis Eugene Rich. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
