She was predeceased by: her parents, Wendell Lee Soles and Ida Mae Jordan Soles; her husband David James Tyson; her stepfather Ruther Lee Soles; her daughter Jennie Lynn Timmons; her grandson Donald Bradley Timmons; and her sister Christine Watts.
She is survived by: her children, Sonja Louise Godwin (Danny) of Chadbourn, NC, David Jeffery Tyson (Karen) of Raleigh, NC and Richard Gregory Tyson (Leanne) of Summerville, SC; her siblings, Jerry Wayne Soles of Clayton, NC, Annie Mae Blackburn of Loris, SC, Nancy Chestnut of Nakina, NC, Barbara Chandler of Swansboro, NC and Sandra Stevens of Loris, SC; and her grandchildren, Dana Louise Teal of Roper, NC and Trina Michelle Worley of Clarendon, NC. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren, and twelve great great grandchildren.
