He was predeceased by: his mother Pearl Cartrette Tompkins; his great grandchild Jada Lee Thomas; and his siblings, Nathan Tompkins, Benny Tompkins, Willie Tompkins, Mary Sellers, Essie Mae Bryant, Edith Bullock and Jenette Fowler.
He is survived by: his wife Esther F. Tompkins of Tabor City, NC; and his children, Tony Tompkins (Angela) of Tabor City, NC, Mickey Tompkins (Kellie) of Tabor City, NC, Rickey Tompkins (Tera) of Tabor City, NC, Angela Dudney (Charles) of Tabor City, NC, Teresa Soles (Mike) of Tabor City, NC and Billie Fowler (Kent). He is also survived by Twenty grandchildren, forty-nine great grandchildren, five great- great- grandchildren.
