She was predeceased by: her parents, John Hooper and Maude Irene Ashe Hooper; her husband Walter Burke Painter Jr.; and her sister Joyce Houston. She is survived by: her daughters, Sheila Frizzell (David) of Sylva and Sherian Lucchetta (Bill) of Wilmington, Delaware; her granddaughters, Brandi Young (Jonathan) of Marietta, Georgia and Kristi Russell (Patrick) of Kenniwick, Washington; and her great grandchildren, Chandler Hensley of Sylva, Mason, Kloie and Anthony Russell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to United Christian Ministries of Jackson County or the youth program of Lovedale Baptist Church.
