He was predeceased by: his parents, Dover Welch and Dorothy Evans Welch. He is survived by: his children, Mike Welch (Tammy) of Franklin, Julie Welch of Sylva, Scott Welch of Asheville, Leah Welch of Sylva and Austin Welch of South Carolina; his brothers, Perry Welch of Franklin, Jeff Welch of Franklin and Richard Welch of Costa Rica; and his cousin Daisy Ehlers. He is also survived by four grandchildren; two great grandchildren and seventeen nieces and nephews.
