Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Floyd Dean leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ray Parris and Janie Ensley Parris; his son Douglas Eugene Parris; his granddaughter Brooke Parris; his brother Truman Parris; and his stepdaughter Laura Bryson Biddix.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Bryson Parris; his son Johnny Dale Parris (Genia); his sister Peggy Parris Stepp (Carl); his great grandchild Ryko; and his stepmother Mildred Parris. He is also survived by three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, step granddaughters, and four step great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Appalachian Funeral Services (165 Skyland Dr, Sylva, NC 28779). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Old Savannah Baptist Church (138 Sutton Branch Rd, Sylva, NC 28779). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery (524 Old Settlement Rd, Sylva, NC 28779).
