It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Emerson Carroll Blanton (Sylva, North Carolina), who passed away on October 29, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Delos Blanton and Mamie Blanton. He is survived by: his sister Myrtice McMahan; his great grandchild Emory; his wife Margaret Estes Blanton; his children, Lanee Ward (Monty) and Carroll Blanton Jr. (Cheryl); his grandchildren, Drew Ward (Ashley), Jade Rathbone (Mitchell), Amber Stevens (Jared), Samantha Blanton, Harley, Hudson Stevens, Aliya Ward, Asher, Emma Rathbone, Ronnie, Jody and Slade Sloan; his brothers, Curtis and Delos Blanton Jr. (Nancy); and his brother-in-law Ted McMahan.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM at the Ochre Hill Baptist Church (14 Norman Dr, Sylva, NC 28779). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Ochre Hill Baptist Church Mission Team.
